Packing ibatis as .deb

We are developing a open-source java based parental control software to be
used in linux system. The project should run in debian-like distribuctions,
and we'll distribute it in .deb package format. Our  project uses ibatis as
dependency, and we would like to redistribute it as a .deb package. We have
build a mavin plugin to create individual .deb packages for the project's
dependencies. There's any problem or restriction to create and redistribute
ibatis as .deb package?

I believed that the license would allow. I just thought that would not be
codial redistribute the software without communicating the author or the
mail list.
We are working on an APT repository to host these packages. Once it´s ready,
I will post  the URL for those who might be interested.

I can't imagine that there is - it's just a standard apache license...
