General CVS question

Just a sort of general CVS question...does anyone know if there's a CVS client out there somewhere that works from behind a proxy? My home network, for various reasons, can't be configured for NAT, so I have to instead run a proxy server and give my machines limited Internet access via the proxy. CVS doesn't appear to be one of the things that's easily handled.

Funny coincidence. I've just finished enabling SVG in the PS renderer in
the redesign. I'll talk more in another mail.

If possible it would be best if you downloaded the source using CVS.
Then you're sure to have the latest stuff. The snapshots get generated once
a day, only.

Here, you'll find instructions for CVS access:
http://xml.apache.org/cvs.html

When you use CVS, you normally get the redesigned FOP. If you use the "fop-0_20_2-maintain"
tag you'll get the maintenance branch code.

I'd recommend you to subscribe to the fop-cvs mailing list, so you'll
know when something's changed.

Useful for anonymous access over a proxy. For write access, nothing that
i am aware of

I suggest searching www.cvshome.org for keyword proxy. I have found some hints
there, though as much as I read it might be neccessary for you to apply a
patch to and recompile your CVS client because I can't tell wether the patch
neccessary for using a proxy has made it to the latest standard CVS
distribution.

I also know that WinCVS has a built-in proxy facility, in case you use MS
Windows.

In case you use KDE, you might also try the latest version of Cervisia,
perhaps it already has some proxy facility.

I'm pretty sure that the CVS module of Emacs can access CVS repositories
through firewalls.

Though that all might even depend on wether you want to access CVS using rsh,
ssh or pserver.

If that all fails, you might want to checkout
http://proxytunnel.sourceforge.net/

Never used that, but in WinCVS, for example, there's a tab for setting a
proxy (IP and port) und "Admin/Preferences...". I don't know if that
helps.
