[users@httpd] Problem Getting to SSL Page on Server

I am testing out our server running Apache 1.3.29 and Mod_SSL 2.8.16. When I try
to get to the default
SSL page I get the following error message:

Forbidden -- You don't have permission to access / on this server.

The bottom line here is I want to be able to access the server via SSL
automatically. How do I configure
the server so that when either the hostname or the ip address of the server is
entered via a browser, the
page that comes up is one that is accessible via the SSL port 443?

Thanks.
