[C2] Ressource not found
Hello.
I've got some problems while running Cocoon2/Tomcat 3.1.
I've installed this using the xdocs/installing.xml file, but when I
try to read the http://localhost:8080/cocoon/welcome file, and any
other file in /cocoon (simple-dynamic-page, status, etc.), I've always
got the same problem:
Netscape whant to save the file (welcome), and here is the content of
this file:
<notify type="resource-not-found" sender="org.apache.cocoon.servlet.CocoonServlet">
<title>Resource not found</title>
<source>Cocoon servlet</source>
<message>Resource not found</message>
<description>The requested URI "/cocoon/welcome" was not found.</description>
<extra description="request-uri">/cocoon/welcome</extra>
<extra description="path-info">/welcome</extra>
</notify>
Does someone have an answer?
Thanks.

With Tomcat 3.1? I've installed Tomcat 4 and it works without the patch.

The problem is as I have outlined in my last email. There is a bug in
CocoonServlet.java.
I was getting exactly the same error with the Cocoon 2.0a3 build until
I fixed it in the manner outlined :
in org.apache.cocoon.servlet.CocoonServlet.java (:276)
if (pathInfo != null) uri += pathInfo; //that's what should be
if (pathInfo != null) uri += "/" + pathInfo; //is what there now.
if you pump req.getServletPath () to output you get "" (empty string),
not null obviously, my stupidity :)
if you pump reg.getPathIinfo () , you get "/".
patch it, and it will certainly work :)
I am running Tomcat on Linux Slackware. :)
cheers,
dima
