Future of ServiceMix in relation to RedHat/FuseSource deal

Hi,

I could not find discussion on this (which kind of surprised me).

>From what I understand, FuseSource and ServiceMix (+Camel etc) have been
pushed forward by much of the same guys. Same people who have been involved
in FuseSource have been (most?) active committers in ServiceMix and other
related Apache projects:

What is going to happen to this because of the sale of FuseSource to RedHat?

Were the active committers part of the deal and do they still have incentive
to push ServiceMix forward? Are all former FuseSource employees now employed
by RedHat? Or have they moved to some other projects? Is some (non-RedHat)
replacement to FuseESB being developed somewhere at the moment?

Posted by Robert Davies <ra...@gmail.com>.
All the FuseSource developers moved to Red Hat - where Fuse Engineering continues - as does Fuse ESB Enterprise (now called JBoss Fuse) and Fuse MQ Enterprise (now called JBoss A-MQ). We continue do do excellent business - unfortunately, due to the size of Red Hat/JBoss sales channel, there's even more work for us to do in supporting customers.

One good side affect of the Red Hat acquisition is that Red Hat have a policy of only providing subscriptions to open source projects and have no closed source. This means that Fuse IDE is now open source at GitHub.

We continue to innovate in the same way, and we are hosting CamelOne in 2 weeks in Boston - http://camelone.org - where we'll be showcasing even more great open source projects as well as the ones you've already mentioned.

thanks,

Rob
