After updating AOO to version 3.4 came an auto update for jre 6.2x
Writer stop working saying java is corrupt. I went to java website downloaded
the latest version 7 update 5, tested as suggested on download site.
Now it is worse yet; a couple of small windows appear telling that java is
defective and not enabled, the freezes...
The same on database...

After several hours back and fourth I finally found that was the installed
extensions the culprits.
To solve java related issues remove extensions one by one until you find the
culprit one or ones.
Maybe it is easier to say than to implement it, but extensions should not crash
the main program, no matter how bad they behave: they should crash by
themselves and let users know what is going on.

Was it an extension that uses Java?
Can you share the name of the extension with us? It would help us to reproduce
the issue.
In case it is an issue with a Java-based extension that does not work with Java
7, we should contact the extension developer and tell him about the bug.
