[jira] [Updated] (CASSANDRA-10635) Add metrics for authentication failures

Soumava Ghosh updated CASSANDRA-10635:
--------------------------------------
    Attachment: 10635-dtest.patch
                10635-trunk.patch

Attaching patch for fix on trunk and corresponding dtest. I've added the metrics to CredentialsMessage even though it is deprecated to detect protocol V1 clients. Sorry about the inordinate delay in submitting the patches.

> There should be no auth failures on a cluster in general.
> Having metrics around the authentication code would help detect clients
> that are connecting to the wrong cluster or have auth incorrectly configured.
