Gil you did not need to provide a patch for R14.12. Most of the time "svn merge" is able to automatically do the work (here down to R12.01) and when it fails it's easy to postpone and clear conflicts by hand ;)

As for the labels, we consider them harmless and allow them to be backported (when well done). So I did.
