I had to appeal to the list for information on how to control the Manifest for a JAR. The line of documentation in the maven-jar-plugin: "The maven archiver to use." is misleading. More examples in the maven-jar-plugin documentation would be good, as well as a link to http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-manifest.html

How To guides for things underneath the "archive" section would be great.
Or links to archiver documentation so that we can work out how to configure it without trawling the mail archives.
