    NIFI-1296[REVIEW_ONLY] initial commit of Kafka processors that leverage Kafka 0.9 API

    This PR is not ready to be merged and is only to initiate incremental review and initial testing of a new pair of Kafka processors that are build using Kafka 0.9 API

You can merge this pull request into a Git repository by running:

    $ git pull https://github.com/olegz/nifi NIFI-1296

Alternatively you can review and apply these changes as the patch at:

    Also wondering if we should support EL here for the same reason I mentioned in the other comment. Seems like the brokers and the topic would be the likely things to change across dev/prod environments.

    Now you made me think ;) since I think what you're saying is that EL can pull a value from properties, environment etc, correct? And if so, then that is definitely valid for both, so I am retracting my comment from before

    Any reason why EL is not supported here, but it is supported in PublishKafka? 
    
    I think we would want both to support it for people who want to externalize properties into bootstrap.conf to make their flow portable across environments. I realize on the consumer side there is no FlowFile to evaluate against, but you can still evaluate without a flow file.

    Valid suggestion, but at this point it's all about consistency and symmetry to the existing Get/PutKafka and in PUT EL is enabled while in GET it is not
