datetimepicker displayFormat="yyyyMMdd": bug or feature?

hi all,

I am on Struts 2.0.9 here ... using datetimepicker with the following 
displayFormat setting
makes the control work incorrectly i.e. permanently display "00002007" 
only and wrongly:

displayFormat="yyyyMMdd"

using separators works fine though e.g.

displayFormat="yyyy.MM.dd"
