The hepper book is a really good step by step guide to building portlet
apps. Wish I'd known about when I got started.

Hello Jan:

Portlets tutorial are all around the net. I would recommend you start
with the tutorials on the jetspeed website, and keep a copy of the
JSR168 or 286 as a refrence. They are well written, and explains many
topics in details. Another good source is the book, http://www.manning.com/hepper/ and it's free.

If you find something unclear, you are very welcome to post a question
on this list.

If you find the site is missing an important topic, then let us know and
I will try to add it.
