[I] bug(desktop): Side Conversation follow-ups disappear while a Turn is running [maka]
liuxiaocs7 opened a new issue, #4900:
URL: https://github.com/apache/maka/issues/4900
### What happened
While a Desktop Side Conversation is still generating a long response, submitting another message gives no durable visible feedback. The new input disappears from the transcript, so the user cannot tell whether it was accepted or where it went.
The Side Conversation should match the main conversation's follow-up behavior:
- Enter queues the message for the next Turn and shows it immediately.
- Shift+Enter steers the active Turn and shows it immediately.
- Queued messages remain visible and manageable until the Host consumes or retracts them.
- Reconnect/reseed and Turn handoff races must not temporarily hide settled replies or leave cancelled optimistic messages behind.
### How to reproduce
1. Open a Desktop Side Conversation.
2. Send a prompt that keeps the assistant generating for a while.
3. Before that response completes, enter another message and press Enter.
4. Observe that the new input is not shown in the Side Conversation and its destination is unclear.
Expected: the follow-up appears immediately as a queued message, matching the main conversation. Shift+Enter should instead steer the active Turn.
### Environment
- Maka commit: `e226ac532` (`main` when filed)
- OS and version: macOS 15.7.3 (Darwin 24.6)
- Surface: Desktop
- Node.js version: 24.14.0
### Logs, screenshots, or additional context
This is a renderer projection/admission-parity issue rather than a crash. The Runtime Host already owns the authoritative message queue; the Side Conversation needs to consume and reconcile the same queue lifecycle as the main conversation.
Filed with OpenAI Codex assistance on behalf of @liuxiaocs7.
