[~markus.weimer], could HDFS required for {{TestHadoopFileSystem}} be detected programmatically, like in {{WindowsHadoopEmulatorYarnClientTests}} ? If so, we could modify this test in a similar way (https://github.com/apache/reef/pull/804/files), to be skipped if HDFS is not detected and to be executed if it's present. Probably worth a separate JIRA.
