Cocoon 2.1 and Apache Wicket - ideas?

Hello Cocoon users!

My team is developing a relatively big Cocoon 2.1.11 application and
we would like to use Apache Wicket inside it. I know that integrating
Wicket with Cocoon 2.2 is possible, but migrating our app to Cocoon
2.2 could be a problem. So, my question: can you recommend a way to
integrate Wicket with Cocoon 2.1?
