[VOTE] Moving to the Attic

Hi MADlib PMC and all subscriber to this list,

At the recent board meeting, we noticed that the MADlib project have had
two failing roll calls in the past year [1][2]. It seems to be quite a
quiet time in the community for a while.

[2] https://lists.apache.org/thread/l2bfw70y279lkn02db362xgfcj7shzym

Besides, the collaboration with Cloudberry project doesn't seem to
have progress

Regarding reflecting the project status, would you be able to start the process
to move MADlib to the Attic [4]?

Or, if it's applicable, you can use this thread as a last roll call to
confirm the PMC still has enough oversight (at least three active members
to manage security reports and board reports, etc.).

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,
tison.

[RESULT][VOTE] Moving to the Attic

Due to the inactivity of MADlib PMC, I submitted a resolution proposal to
the board:

As here receives no response from the PMC. I'm going to prepare a board resolution to move MADlib to the attic.

I'll keep dev@madlib.apache.org informed when the resolution is ready.

Hi Dianjin,

Thanks for your interest in continuing the MADlib project. I'll
discuss with the board to see how we can have a process in this case.

However, to run a PMC we need at least three active members to manage
security reports and board reports, etc.

Best,
tison.

Hi,

Our Cloudberry community is still interested in reviving the MADlib project. I'm
not sure if anyone can help promote Max Yang and me to the MADlib PMC:

- Max Yang: maxyang@apache.org
- Dianjin Wang: djwang@apache.org

Once this is done, we can proceed with the integration work between Cloudberry
and MADlib. The PR is ready, but still no approval yet.

I believe MADlib has unique value for users and developers in the PostgreSQL
and Cloudberry ecosystems. If we can move this process forward, it will be
beneficial for all of us. If it is unfortunately moved to the attic, I
would prefer to reincubate it in the Incubator to build a new
community team to maintain.

Best,
Dianjin Wang
