[jira] Created: (XERCESC-1312) Node names for special nodes contain undocumented "#"
Node names for special nodes contain undocumented "#"
-----------------------------------------------------
Key: XERCESC-1312
URL: http://nagoya.apache.org/jira/browse/XERCESC-1312
Project: Xerces-C++
Type: Bug
Components: Documentation
Reporter: Roy Smith
Priority: Minor
According to http://xml.apache.org/xerces-c/apiDocs/classDOMNode.html, calling getNodeName() on a DOMText node should return "text". In reality, it returns "#text". Similarly for DOMComment, DOMDocument, etc.
It is unclear if the code is wrong or the documentation is wrong.

The docs in the code are correct. It must be a problem in the generation of html docs. We should fix this before next release

I have updated the version of doxygen we use to do our build and the # is now appearing. For the next release of xercesc the problem should be resolved (that is when we will refresh the online docs next).

The problem is with the unix generation of the docs.
On Windows the # comes out but on Unix it doesn't.
I tried modifying the text to not use "code" but that didn't help...

The DOM specification says that the node name for a text node is "#text" so this is an error in the documentation.
