Are there concerns with the length of the value here? Record fields with large values shouldn't be copied to attributes; that data should remain as flowfile content.

 Review comment:
And there are no tests. But I dont want to imply fixing star imports or adding tests would make this a good candidate to merge. Much more description needs to occur on what the actual desired use case/outcome is. The name of the processor is also not clear enough and it isn't clear that it follows our naming convention.

 Review comment:
I am a strong -1 on this proposed processor. PartitionRecord is likely to do what you want already (specify the fields you want extracted). This is generally an anti-pattern (needing to split to single entities and also extracting the attributes to flowfile attributes). There needs to be a lot more description on what the actual use case is.

 Review comment:
It appears the code for this processor transfers flowfiles to this relationship only in the case that a ProcessException occurs, and only the original flowfile is transferred to this relationship when the exception caught. The splits are removed from the session. The description should be updated to reflect this behavior.

our star import checker appears unreliable. i see it on other things as well so this can be ignored.

 Review comment:
if it takes record readers/writers then it isn't specific to json or avro
