ActiveMQ - 5.4.3: Set usernames and passwords.

Hello,

Currently ActiveMQ server accepts any username, password I supply from
ActiveMQConnectionFactory.

How do I configure? I followed this
<http://activemq.apache.org/security.html> link but with no luck.

Please help.

I made the change in the activemq-security.xml inside conf/.

        <simpleAuthenticationPlugin>
            <users>
			<authenticationUser username="admin" password="admin"
                    groups="admins"/>
            </users>
        </simpleAuthenticationPlugin>

I removed other users and enabled only group admin. When I consume or
publish the message, it accepts any username and password I provide.
In JAVA I used this:
ActiveMQConnectionFactory connectionFactory = new ActiveMQConnectionFactory(
				"admin", "xyz", messageBrokerUrl);

As you can see username password combination do not match. Still works for
me.

This list is maintained by volunteers (some project committers, some just
users like yourself who've learned enough from using ActiveMQ to be able to
help others with a specific question) who have personal lives and limited
available time, so you can't expect a response. People generally try to
help when and where they can, but some questions do go unanswered. Normal
turnaround times vary based on how many people think they might know
something that would help, but in general if you haven't gotten a response
after 5-7 days, you probably won't. If you need a guaranteed response with
an SLA that covers the response time, the website lists several companies
from whom your company could purchase a support contract.

For your problem, are you sure you're actually using the
activemq-security.xml file in the broker? The behavior you describe sounds
like you're not. That file isn't the one that's used by default
(activemq.xml is), so you'd have had to change something (I'm not sure
what, but I'd guess you'd rename the file to activemq.xml or modify the
start script to use the original file name).

If that doesn't fix the problem, please download either 5.10.2 or 5.11.1
and confirm that the problem exists there as well. It's always possible
that there's a bug in 5.4.3 (why are you still using it, given how many
bugs have been fixed since then?) that's been fixed in a later version, in
which case you'd just need to upgrade to a version that works.

Were you trying to use JAAS or simple authentication from that webpage?
What didn't work? Want to post your config?
