There's a FAQ entry for:
"How can I delete everything beneath a particular directory, preserving the
directory itself?"
But I found myself trying to do something close but not exactly
the same and only found an answer on a ant-user ML post:
"Delete a directory only if empty"
Maybe it can have its own FAQ entry...
I've cooked a patch for that, copying what was said in the other similar entry...

Patch adding the FAQ entry
please tell me if the language needs rework (and maybe you native-english
speakers could suggest a better wording)
