What does mean marshall and unmarshall?
I wonder what does mean marshall and unmarshall...
I looked into dictionary... but I cannot understand what it means.
Someone can tell me ...

The term "marshaling" comes from the military when a company of soldiers in a complex
marching formation must be put into single file to get through a narrow passage and
then reorganized on the other side to the same formation. In procedure calls the
parameters can be complex: they may be arrays, user-defined structs, or objects that
in turn hold child arrays, structs, or objects in unlimited layers of complexity. The
marshaling software must be able to serialize these complex structures predictably
and efficiently into single file "bits" to be sent across the wire and recreated on
the other side.
On the server side, COM creates a stub, which is responsible for deserializing the
data, recreating the structure of all parameters on the stack, and making the
procedure call to the server object, which sees the call as if it were made from a
local client.
