Weird HTML makes the pool example doc hard to read

Summary: Weird HTML makes the pool example doc hard to read
           Product: Commons
           Version: 1.0.1 Final
          Platform: Other
               URL: http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/pool/examples.html
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Pool
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: bill@wetware.com

The commons.pool project has an example page,
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/pool/examples.html
which would be useful but it's hard to read because
the code uses both a <pre> block and many <font> tags
with vertical whitespace, which makes it kind of look
like abstract poetry instead of a useful example.

The problem could be fixed by not using font tags, or
by changing font tag placement so they cause no vertical
whitespace, or by changing the pre tag to a <code> tag
block and using <br> at the end of every line.
