[~jeagles]: honestly, I'm not sure what gitbox@hive.apache.org is, I would not be surprised if it was a /dev/null :)
thought this over again, issues@tez.apache.org indeed looks optimal for github messages, because whoever is subscribed to issues@, already got used to getting emails about every single tez issue

> TEZ-4278 introduced .asf.yaml, where I haven't changed the defaults regarding notifications:
> https://gitbox.apache.org/schemes.cgi?tez
> {code}
> commits: commits@tez.apache.org
> issues: dev@tez.apache.org
> pullrequests: dev@tez.apache.org
> {code}
> now looking at my emails and settings in hive project, I think dev@apache.tez.org should not be the recipient of so many mails from github, because it will kill the original intention of a dev list (I mean, getting relevant, useful emails from humans :) )
> for reference in hive there is:
> {code}
> commits: commits@hive.apache.org
> issues: gitbox@hive.apache.org
> pullrequests: gitbox@hive.apache.org
> {code}
> I think the *pullrequests* part which really spams dev@ at the moment
