Is it possible to localize the nav within the same template? - newbie question

I am very new to lenya and cms and its concepts all togther.  I have one
question and that is:

Is it possible to localize the nav within the same template?  In other words
can the same template be customized and used with multiple sites for various
languages?  If so, could you please let me know how to do that.
