[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-16406) ITestDynamoDBMetadataStore.testProvisionTable times out intermittently

Steve Loughran created HADOOP-16406:
---------------------------------------

             Summary: ITestDynamoDBMetadataStore.testProvisionTable times out intermittently
                 Key: HADOOP-16406
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-16406
             Project: Hadoop Common
          Issue Type: Sub-task
          Components: fs/s3, test
            Reporter: Steve Loughran

Sometimes on test runs, ITestDynamoDBMetadataStore.testProvisionTable times out because AWS takes too long to resize a table.

{code}
[ERROR] testProvisionTable(org.apache.hadoop.fs.s3a.s3guard.ITestDynamoDBMetadataStore)  Time elapsed: 100.011 s  <<< ERROR!
org.junit.runners.model.TestTimedOutException: test timed out after 100000 milliseconds
	at org.apache.hadoop.fs.s3a.s3guard.ITestDynamoDBMetadataStore.testProvisionTable(ITestDynamoDBMetadataStore.java:963)
{code}

Given we are moving off provisioned IO to on-demand, I propose cutting this test entirely
