   I agree that the landing page should have more personalized content and the profile page could be a good candidate for that. Quite similar to what vyl suggested here https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset/issues/4376 and is coming up in the redesign. 
   
   Once those changes land, we can change the /welcome  to point to the page with the thingg you describe above and leave the profile information on /profile/{username}
