Tomcat stops responding

Has anyone seen this problem?????  Tomcat runs great with Apache, serving up
without
a hitch.  Randomnly, every 12 hours or so, it will stop serving up pages for
apache and we
get the old 404 error. If we restart tomcat, all is well.  

If you've seen this, or need info, please respond.
