Getting ready to make a release using the current iota code base
Hi all, I would like to suggest we start right away in getting the iota codebase ready for a release. Most of us have experience releasing code bases and we understand the best practices in that regard. On the other hand the iota committers may need help in understanding the Apache release process. Does anyone on the dev list have any ideas on how we can go about how we ensure we are compliant from an Apache perspective? e.g. license/file headers, IP clearance etc.
Looking forward to hearing the communities thoughts on this.
-Tony

Hi Gunnar, looks like you did a great job on the Trafodion website - very well done. We would love someone to do that for the iota website. We would love to get your help in doing a similar thing for iota.

Wonderful - let’s work together on the iota release. If other committers are interested they can contact us. Your Apache experience is going to be very valuable in getting the release out. Thanks Gunnar.

Hi Tony,
The Trafodion releases were managed by different people for each release. I
was going to run the 2.1 release but I just withdrew due to changed working
circumstances, which removed the required equipment needed to build and
validate such a large code base.
I did get 60-70% through the 2.1 release so I've done a bunch of it but not
the complete end-to-end. I'm sure we can figure out how to get a first IoT
release out the door together. :)
Are you doing daily builds and, if so, where do you store the artifacts
from those builds? No one outside the development community should have
access to those artifacts but people that want to just do testing without
building the code would benefit from pre-built versions.
Thanks,
Gunnar

Great!

See my previous mail to this list on that subject [1]. Any further questions just ask.
See also my email on the "ZMQ publisher/subscriber performer” licensing issue.
