[users@httpd] where is the logical place to insert rewriteengine?

Hello people,

I am trying to insert the statement

ReWriteEngine on

in my httpd.conf file. 

Could someone please direct me as to the best place to insert this
directive.

Hmm. The best placeis probably in the narrowest scope of your
RewriteRules/Maps above of them.
