Summary: DASL sorting moved into Lucene for better performance
Product: Slide
Version: Nightly
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: Search
AssignedTo: slide-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: m.pfingsthorn@hippo.nl
I've moved the sorting of Basic DASL searches into Lucene. This speeds up
queries tramendously. Also, I've moved the limiting into
AbstractLuceneExpression.execute() which has the effect of only accessing
properties of resources actually interesting to the user given the limit that
was supplied. Profiling showed that this is actually the real bottleneck when
evaluating DASLs, so the previous "access everything and sort in memory"
approach is suboptimal. Security is not circumvented by this. This patch also
fixes a behavioural bug of the AbstractLuceneExpression where the search would
fail if access to any of the hits were denied.
