Characters with accents not displayed correctly in Tomcat 3.3

Summary: Characters with accents not displayed correctly in
                    Tomcat 3.3
           Product: Tomcat 3
           Version: 3.3.x Nightly
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Unknown
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: webmaster@cienciapura.com.br

Take the following part of a jsp page:

....

<td> </td>
....

It will display 'garbage' on the browser.

At least in Tomcat 3.2.x , it works fine.

I tried it with Tomcat 3.3 last nightly build ( 10-Dez-2001 ), default
installation and it didn't work. I might be missing a configuration to make it
work, but at least default installation is different from previous versions.
