[users@httpd] O.T. PHP??
Good Morning,
I know this is a list on Apache, but I thought that since it is related that
I could ask. I need a good book (Newbie) for PHP, to learn the language.
What are books that some of you GURU have used??

The book "PHP and MySQL Web Development" is a great book to learn PHP and
MySQL. Make sure to get the new version, it was just published a month or
two ago.
Also the PHP Cookbook is also good, but it is more for someone with
experience with PHP. It is full of tricks and neat functions.

I did :) back in those ol' good times :)....now I am somewhere else using JSP
and Resin :), or Tomcat :) heh, but anyway I would like to know about that
help file :) cause I am going to install 2000 Professional back at home and
try to develop PHP again on it :)...

Yup I concur.
That's an excellent book, covers everything from straight PHP through to
setting up and configuring MySQL and then getting it all working
together.
Finally, it even includes versions of Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc on CD. Not
the most recent versions, but certainly enough to get you up, running
and learning.
If you happen to be developing on Windows, give me a buzz and I'll point
you at a tres useful setup help file.
