Newest Xalan/Xerces that work with Cocoon 1.8?

Hello,

I have stumbled onto a show-stopper of a bug in Xalan-1.2-D02 (released
August) so I want to upgrade to newer code.  Is there any common advice
about doing this?  Am I just looking for certain version numbers or has
Xalan forked for Cocoon?  Anyway, I'm asking because I've managed to break
stuff changing xalan in the past.

PS: see the xalan-dev list for info about the bug; it has reportedly been
fixed in newer versions.
