 ## Open Issues

-### `grails-datamapping-core` — GormEnhancerAllQualifiersSpec (15 failures)
-
-**Module**: `grails-datamapping-core`
-**Spec**: `org.grails.datastore.gorm.GormEnhancerAllQualifiersSpec`
-**Root cause**: Our O(M+N) refactor to `GormEnhancer.groovy` introduced two regressions.
-
-#### Failure Type A — NPE in constructor (3 tests)
-
-**Tests**:
-- `MultiTenant entity with default datasource expands to all qualifiers`
-- `MultiTenant entity with ALL datasource expands to all qualifiers`
-- `non-MultiTenant entity with ALL datasource expands to all qualifiers`
-
-**Cause**: `GormEnhancer.<init>` line 140 calls `getDefaultConnectionSource().getName()` but mock `ConnectionSources` doesn't stub `getDefaultConnectionSource()` → returns null → NPE.
-```
-java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "ConnectionSource.getName()"
- because the return value of "ConnectionSources.getDefaultConnectionSource()" is null
-    at GormEnhancer.<init>(GormEnhancer.groovy:140)
-```
-**Fix**: Guard with null-safe: `qualifier = cs.defaultConnectionSource?.name ?: ConnectionSource.DEFAULT`
-
-#### Failure Type B — Registry empty after `registerEntity` (2 tests × 3 forks = 6 failures)
-
-**Tests**:
-- `registerEntity adds static api under default and secondary for non-default datasource`
-- `registerEntity adds static api under default and secondary for MultiTenant entity`
-
-**Cause**: `registerEntity` iterates `this.connectionSourceNames` (which is `['DEFAULT']` for a plain mock datastore). An entity declaring `datasource 'secondary'` has its secondary qualifier listed in `ConnectionSourcesSupport.getConnectionSourceNames(entity)`, but `registerEntity` never iterates those — so `getDatastore(entity.name, 'secondary')` returns null.
-```
-GormRegistry.instance.getDatastore(entity.name, 'secondary') != null → false
-(registry is empty: staticApis=[:] datastoresByQualifier=[:] ...)
-```
-**Fix**: In `registerEntity`, after the main loop, also iterate over the entity's declared datasource qualifiers and call `registry.registerEntityDatastore(className, qualifier, datastore)` for each non-ALL qualifier.
+*None known — all datamapping/datastore modules passing. H7 dependent modules under test next.*

(grails-core) 05/06: fix(test): make GormRegistryScalabilitySpec parallel-safe

This is an automated email from the ASF dual-hosted git repository.

commit 02d9cb72c68a8f60992717d458ac2b547b59bcd9
Author: Walter Duque de Estrada <wb...@mac.com>
AuthorDate: Tue May 5 17:10:18 2026 -0500

    fix(test): make GormRegistryScalabilitySpec parallel-safe

    Replace absolute staticApis/instanceApis/validationApis size bounds with
    entity-scoped key counts. The previous assertions (size() < 2 * TENANT_COUNT)
    assumed a clean GormRegistry singleton, but in parallel test execution other
    test classes register their own entities, inflating the total count.

    New assertion: count only the keys belonging to our two test entities and
    verify it equals exactly 2 (one per class, not one per tenant). This correctly
    proves the O(M) guarantee without being sensitive to parallel test pollution.

    Applied to both:
     - grails-datamapping-core-test GormRegistryScalabilitySpec
     - grails-data-hibernate7 GormRegistryScalabilitySpec

(grails-core) 01/06: test(h7): add GormRegistryScalabilitySpec to verify O(M+N) memory guarantee

commit 1ddb6039a788096a9ce0a4a2f47e3ead68896638
Author: Walter Duque de Estrada <wb...@mac.com>
AuthorDate: Tue May 5 14:31:08 2026 -0500

    test(h7): add GormRegistryScalabilitySpec to verify O(M+N) memory guarantee

    Verifies that GormRegistry maintains the O(M+N) memory contract
    in the H7 SCHEMA multi-tenancy context:

    - O(M): staticApis/instanceApis/validationApis maps have one entry
      per entity class — never multiplied by tenant count
    - O(N): datastoresByQualifier grows with tenants (one entry per qualifier)
    - O(1): same singleton API instance returned for any qualifier
    - No spurious entries: unknown-qualifier lookup does not pollute the map
    - Smoke test: all 5 SCHEMA child datastores are reachable by tenant ID

    Uses HibernateDatastore with SCHEMA multi-tenancy and a fixed
    AllTenantsResolver (schemaA–schemaE), parallel to the approach
    used in SchemaTenantGormEnhancerSpec.

    docs: update ISSUES.md — H7 core 100% passing, document core regressions

    - grails-data-hibernate7-core: 100% passing (SCHEMA multi-tenancy fixed)
    - grails-datamapping-core: 15 failures in GormEnhancerAllQualifiersSpec
      caused by our O(M+N) GormEnhancer refactor:
      A) NPE in constructor (null defaultConnectionSource from mock)
      B) Registry empty after registerEntity (entity's secondary datasource
         not iterated — only connectionSourceNames loop, not entity's qualifiers)

commit 89def8be60701a713a3bdfb5e0649fc81400b879
Author: Walter Duque de Estrada <wb...@mac.com>

    fix: repair GormEnhancer regressions from O(M+N) refactor

    Fix two regressions in GormEnhancer introduced by the O(M+N) GormRegistry
    refactor that broke all 15 tests in GormEnhancerAllQualifiersSpec.

    Fix A — NPE in constructor (Type A):
      GormEnhancer.<init> line 140 called getDefaultConnectionSource().getName()
      directly. When the ConnectionSources mock doesn't stub getDefaultConnectionSource()
      the call returns null and NPEs. Added null-safe navigation:
        qualifier = ...connectionSources?.defaultConnectionSource?.name ?: ConnectionSource.DEFAULT

    Fix B — registry empty after registerEntity (Type B):
      registerEntity looped only over this.connectionSourceNames (set from the
      enhancer's own datastore, typically [DEFAULT] for a plain mock). Entities
      that declare a named datasource via `datasource 'secondary'` had their
      qualifier in ConnectionSourcesSupport.getConnectionSourceNames(entity) but
      that loop was never visited, so getDatastore(entity.name, 'secondary')
      returned null. Added a second loop after the main one that iterates the
      entity's declared non-DEFAULT/non-ALL qualifiers and registers them via
      registry.registerEntityDatastore(className, entityQualifier, datastore).

    All 253 grails-datamapping-core tests now pass.

commit 1be3415729868340a14da269a96d0f26bda1b7c1

    test(core): add GormRegistryScalabilitySpec to verify O(M+N) memory guarantee

    Adapts the H7 GormRegistryScalabilitySpec for grails-datamapping-core-test
    using SimpleMapDatastore in DATABASE multi-tenancy mode.

    Verifies the O(M+N) contract of GormRegistry:
    - O(M): staticApis/instanceApis/validationApis each bounded by entity count,
      never multiplied by tenant count
    - O(N): datastoresByQualifier grows with tenants (default qualifier present)
    - O(1): same singleton API returned for any qualifier
    - No pollution: unknown-qualifier lookup does not insert spurious map entries
    - Data isolation smoke test: tenant_write data not visible in tenant_read

    Key difference from H7 variant: uses SimpleMapDatastore + DATABASE tenancy
    and passes TenantResolver as an instance (not a class reference) to avoid
    Spring ConverterNotFoundException during PropertyResolver conversion.
