Sebb reopened GROOVY-7743:

Releases are published by putting them in the SVN dist tree, and svpubsub copies them to the ASF mirror hosts.

However the SVN dist tree is *not* the correct place to link for downloads.
(The page is not very clear on that - I can see why you used it)

Downloaders must be directed to the ASF mirror system.
