I would recommend we follow these steps:

1. Set findbugs-maven-plugin threshold to NORMAL
2. Evaluate reported findbugs issues, prioritize and document:

 - http://incubator.apache.org/shindig/shindig-1.1.x/shindig-parent/shindig-social-api/findbugs.html
 - http://incubator.apache.org/shindig/shindig-1.1.x/shindig-parent/shindig-gadgets/findbugs.html
3. Contributors leave a comment in Jira stating which issues they would like to fix.
4. Start work.
