[jira] [Created] (DIRSTUDIO-1309) Update to use a contemporary version of Eclipse

Fredrik Roubert created DIRSTUDIO-1309:
------------------------------------------

Summary: Update to use a contemporary version of Eclipse
                 Key: DIRSTUDIO-1309
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-1309
             Project: Directory Studio
          Issue Type: Dependency upgrade
            Reporter: Fredrik Roubert
             Fix For: 2.0.0-M18

After [PR #36|https://github.com/apache/directory-studio/pull/36] was merged, the platform currently used is Eclipse 4.22 (2021-12) which soon is going to be 2 years old.

It would be good to update to use a contemporary version ahead of time, before some important bugfix or feature makes it necessary (and stressful) to do.

Directory Studio currently has JDK 11 as a stated prerequisite, so an update to Eclipse 4.24 (2022-06) can be done immedately, without having to change anything else:

https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse/Installation

The already pending [PR #43|https://github.com/apache/directory-studio/pull/43] will do that.

After that, the minimum JDK version will have to be updated to 17 before updating the platform further.
