Weird stuff in error.log

Hmmm... Just noticed that on one of my servers I'm seeing entries
like:

    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    3
    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    3
    2

in my error log. No other entries on the line, just the digit. Mostly
2's but I've also seen a

    2
    2
    3
    4
    5
    2
    2

which seems to indicate something being directed to the error log...
>From a CVS snap from the 20th on a FreeBSD system. I'm digging through
the changes now, but just a Head's Up in case anyone might have some
insights...
