Regarding the ASF's Open Letter to Sun Microsystems

All,

Today the ASF sent an open letter to Sun Microsystems regarding our
problems attaining an acceptable license for the JCK.

You can read a copy of it here :

    http://www.apache.org/jcp/sunopenletter.html

There also is a FAQ :

    http://www.apache.org/jcp/sunopenletterfaq.html

This is an important and difficult subject, so please refer any
questions about this from external parties (Sun, the press, analysts)
to myself (geirm at apache dot org) or the press list (press at
apache dot org)

Thanks

geir

I cannot say I enjoyed that reply much.

I appreciate that Apache would only undertake such an action when all
other avenues of discussion have been exhausted, so I don't think anyone
takes any pleasure out of seeing this published. Let's hope that the
issue is resolved promptly.

Regards,
Tim
