[jira] [Created] (CASSJAVA-130) Fix Result-Metadata Race Causing Corrupt SKIP_METADATA Row Decoding
Yifan Cai created CASSJAVA-130:
----------------------------------
Summary: Fix Result-Metadata Race Causing Corrupt SKIP_METADATA Row Decoding
Key: CASSJAVA-130
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSJAVA-130
Project: Apache Cassandra Java driver
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Core
Reporter: Yifan Cai
Assignee: Yifan Cai
When a prepared statement's SKIP_METADATA response is decoded, the driver reads whatever column definitions are currently cached on the DefaultPreparedStatement, not what was in effect when that execution's request was encoded. A concurrent execution that triggers a CASSANDRA-10786 schema-change update to that shared cache can therefore cause an in-flight execution to decode its row bytes against the wrong column layout. This change snapshots the result metadata at encode time and threads it through decoding so each response is decoded against the metadata that was true when its request was built.
