[PROPOSAL] Monthly Beta Releases

There are quite a few of us Shindig users who are unable to depend on SNAPSHOT releases or trunk code. As great new bug fixes and features rapidly make their way into Shindig, we would like to consume them on a more regular basis. Therefore, I would like to propose that a beta release is spun on a monthly cadence.

Thoughts?

-Matt

Happy to train anyone that wants to cut releases. It's a pretty simple
affair. The biggest obstacle may be getting your GPG key signed.

I like the monthly cadence and I am willing to learn some of the release
management stuff.

Do you think monthly is the right cadence?

Also, with the increased frequency and Paul's more limited availability,
would it make sense to have a couple more release managers? At Rave, we
have started a rotation to reduce some of the burden of spinning releases.

I would agree. I'm scared to death with the number of changes that have been
made between the beta we are using and the next one. :)
