App using xercesc1_7_0 is crashing on solaris 2.8

I am running a multithreaded app using xercesc1_7_0 on solaris 2.8.
I am running into some problems and frequent crashes in the DOM component?
Are there any problems with 1_7_0 on solaris 2.8? Do I need to upgrade
to 2_3_0 ?
