about development: check url http://wiki.apache.org/nutch/Becoming%20A%20Nutch%20Developer for instructions about developing nutch, in particular section "Step Three: Using the JIRA and Developing"

You should attach pacthes instead of full java source files because it's much easier to see what changed by looking at diffs.
