### What would you like to be improved?
`maven.compiler.release` property in maven is used to ensure working against the specific Java version.
`-release` option is supported in `javac` since Java 9. "Unlike the -source and -target options, the compiler will detect and generate an error when using APIs that don't exist in previous releases of Java SE."
This property is used by following plugins,
- maven-compiler-plugin , doc:<https://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-compiler-plugin/compile-mojo.html#release>
- scala-maven-plugin, doc: <https://davidb.github.io/scala-maven-plugin/compile-mojo.html#release>
