User retrieval according to role

Hi

I want to know if anyone has managed to efficiently
retrieve a list of users according to a specific role
from the db.

Currently I am retrieving all users from the db and
analysing each individual user according to their
role.
I am expecting a large user-base and thus I do not
feel comfortable with this solution.

Hi,

At the moment there aren't really a way to do this through the normal
Security Service.  I don't know if it is possible to add this to the
Security Service in a way that other back ends (like LDAP) can also support
this, but Rafal might have an idea (unfortunately he's probably buried under
23 tons of other things to do right now).  If it is possible I'll volunteer
to do the DB code but I'm not up running with LDAP...

If it really important to you, and push comes to shove you can try and use
the Security Peer classes directly, but this is _not_ recommended.
