source of dropdown is in tab Catalogue. Dropdown is in the Destination Column
of the 2020 tab

Good day,

My interface is in French, so please, be forgiving if the terms I use are not
exactly what's what. Trying to translate on the fly.

I have this .XLS file where I store some data in a tab that I pull to create a
dropdown list in another tab.

Data->Validity
Criteria :
- Authorize - Cell Range
- Empty cells is unchecked
- Display selection list is On
- Source is my cell range.

I have a bunch of empty rows in the source tab for future entries that are
included in my dropdown cell range.

The dropdown is generated with the content in the same order as found in the
source tab. it also pulls those empty rows, even though the option is off.

When I check "Sort entries in ascending order" the OK, the dropdown content is
regenerated and empty rows are removed. I save and keep the format and close
the file.

When I come back, the "Sort entries in ascending order" is Off again and the
content of the dropdown is back to source tab content order and empty lines.

I'm including the file.

What did you expect with your document?
Please give us two screenshots with actual and expected results.

Why do you save in an alien format? You should use native ODS to be sure to
have 100% performance.
Remember that OpenOffice does not claim, and has never claimed, to be a clone
of MS Office.
