Steve, I realize it has been awhile since you posted this, but I wanted to ask
a few follow-up questions on the chance that you might be able to answer them.

Did the problem ever get fixed?

Is there anything you changed before the Thai characters began showing as
square boxes?

I was unable to replicate your bug and will post a more comprehensive report
soon. You mentioned that this happened at the same time as the spellchecker
began marking all words as misspelled. That may or may not be related, but was
not able to replicate that either.

Thank you,

Stephen L'Allier
