spamassassin configuration on a muti-domain hosting server

Hi,

I'm on a Redhat ES 4 (x86) with
postfix-2.1.5-4.2.RHEL4
spamassassin-3.0.4-1.el4
spamd is launch with this command (according to ps -edf | grep spamd)

root 27429 1 0 21:51 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/spamd -d -c -m5 -H

When i send a mail it goes through spamd and then i get this error in
/var/log/maillog (of course the mail never reach its destination)

Aug 11 21:53:09 dell1 spamd[27432]: connection from dell1.domain.com
[127.0.0.1] at port 53011
Aug 11 21:53:09 dell1 spamd[27432]: info: setuid to nobody succeeded
Aug 11 21:53:09 dell1 spamd[27432]: Creating default_prefs
[//.spamassassin/user_prefs]
Aug 11 21:53:09 dell1 spamd[27432]: Cannot write to
//.spamassassin/user_prefs: No such file or directory
Aug 11 21:53:09 dell1 spamd[27432]: Couldn't create readable
default_prefs for [//.spamassassin/user_prefs]
Aug 11 21:53:09 dell1 postfix/smtpd[27630]: disconnect from
dell1.domain.com[127.0.0.1]

I can see that spamd switch to nobody account, and nobody's home
directory is '/' by default on redhat ES4. It seems that spamd isn't
able to find out what is the correct home directory corresponding to
the destination mail address.

I use a postfix style aliasing system. aliases for each domain are
stored in /etc/postfix/virtual and hashed with this command :
/usr/sbin/postmap /etc/postfix/virtual

Does anyone knows what to do ?

Thanks,
Thomas.
(i'm french, so my english may sometimes sounds strange :op)

While I don't know much about either Redhat or Postfix, so I can't offer
advice to fix this problem, I do have a suggestion for a workaround: Have
you considered storing the user preferences (also possibly bayes and AWL) in
an SQL database? That would bypass the funny issues with the home dir path
for nobody and the need to write to the filesystem at all.
