Repository access very slow on Vista 32-bit

Hi.

I ran into this problem with TortoiseSVN (1.5.4.14259, 1.5.5.14361)
first, then confirmed with cli version (Slik - 1.5.4). Tried to turn
off TCP auto tuning and also tried to turn off the firewall. All with
no luck.
Server side runs with svnserve 1.5.1 on Ubuntu 8.10.
What else to try?

Alex.

No. I am working with remote repository. I am on Vista. Repository is
on Linux.

In the meantime, I found a workaround for the problem. I reconfigured
repository with Apache, over HTTP. This fixed the problem although I
still don't understand why.

Thanks for help.
Alex.

Did you use localhost as hostname?

TortoiseSVN and the Slik client are ipv6 enabled and when a hostname
resolves to both an ipv4 and ipv6 address (like localhost on Windows), ipv6
is tried first.

Please compare your result to using 127.0.0.1 if you tried localhost.
