anonymous CVS
Anyone know why this might happen when I try to get code from CVS
anonymously?
$ cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org:/home/cvspublic login
(Logging in to anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: connect to xml.apache.org:2410 failed:
Connection refused

Nope. I'm sure in one of the 15 or 20 tries I've correctly typed the
password. Are there firewall issues that could cause this? If there's
nothing wrong with anonymous access I'll assume it's at my end and
pursue the problem somewhere besides this list.

Perhaps you're supplying the wrong password. It's anoncvs.
